Garbage Posters

This three-poster series takes one environmental message and interprets it in completely different ways. As a design history project, each poster draws inspiration from specific designers and design movements.

The first poster channels Jamie Reid and Punk style with high-contrast black and white photography. I embedded the word "garbage" directly within the actual garbage in the image.

The second embraces Futurist motion and industrial design aesthetics. Here, the word "garbage" moves away from the viewer, challenging them to question "where does it go?"

For the third poster, inspired by Stefan Sagmeister, I wanted the garbage itself to become the message. The trash quite literally does the questioning.

Each approach tackles the same environmental concern but speaks to different audiences through the visual language they connect with.

PROCESS

Below shows the inspiration I used to create the posters as well as a more in depth description of the characteristics for each poster.
